ABSTRACT

Using learning analytics and dispositional learning analytics in teaching is difficult. Examples of their use are required for higher educational institutions and teachers. In this paper, we present a flipped learning approach in online settings (due to COVID-19) with particular emphasis on learning analytics and dispositional learning analytics. For this, an understanding of flipped approaches (i.e., flipped classroom and flipped learning) as well as the role of technology in the teaching context is required and presented. The role of technology includes (1) a digital learning system, (2) a conferencing system, (3) the collection and use of learning analytics and dispositional learning analytics, and (4) content-specific technology. Additionally, our aim is to present students' course feedback results from quantitative research methods course practices (2020, 2021) for preservice teachers (i.e., students;N = 70). The content is highly challenging for these students, causing fear, frustration, anxiety, and boredom. Generally, the results for pedagogy were positive, but the results of students' learning perceptions were lower. Based on the approach and results, discussion with new insights is provided. © 2022 Copyright for this paper by its authors. ABSTRACT

The current era is a time of technology and without acknowledging the role of technology in the different sectors of life, advancement will remain at a slow pace. Artificial intelligence (AI) in the field of science is now being used in almost every field whether it is medicine or any other. The research aims to find out the recent advances and challenges of Edge AI and IoT-assisted COVID-19 alike detection systems. The current study aims to conduct a systematic review by selecting secondary articles. Therefore, out of348 articles, only 7 articles were taken to conduct a literature review. The health care industry must understand the role of IoT in proving the fast pace results in medical through the adoption of the technology. The perception of the people regarding the technology is also highly supportive and the industry is demanding more AI-integrated systems through which advancements will be made in this sector. there are several aspects of the Edge AI and IoT due to which the patient care, covid-19 like a pandemic, and the detection system alike to covid-19 virus detection system will be effectively providing benefits to the people on a long-term basis. The finding of this research stated that the advancement in technology and the usage of Edge AI in medicine is very crucial to understand with better recognition of the benefits which are provided through it. © 2022 IEEE.

ABSTRACT

Airports are implementing innovative technologies represented as Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) to prepare for an increase of customer numbers and provide better experience in post-corona era. This study aims to explore the role of technologies recently introduced in airports and the benefits of the such technology-driven transition. To achieve the purpose, this study focuses on technologies of robots, AI, and service automation (RAISA) along with service process from the perspective of airport customers. For the analysis, the best practice of airport in South Korea is selected and provide basic data for RAISA utilization. Through the case analysis, this study categorizes the core technologies utilized in airports and explores the advantages, for instance attaining process efficiency and providing customer convenience from RAISA. In conclusion, despite suffering from the COVID-19 pandemic, it can be a possible opportunity to restructure and reorganize the airport service process through the implementation of RAISA. © 2022 IEEE.

ABSTRACT

Restrictions imposed on societies across the world due to the COVID-19 pandemic have had direct and indirect consequences to the public’s health and well-being. Unlike many countries, Sweden’s restrictions were significantly milder. Businesses offering recreational services provide activities that are important to the well-being of the public. This study explores the status and perspectives of 34 Swedish businesses that provide recreational activities during COVID-19 and the role of technology on recreational services. Results show that businesses comply with guidelines and recommendations, have trust in the government despite lack of sufficient support, and have special considerations for youth. Technology was significant in aiding businesses to cope with COVID-19. Trends reported are: adoption of new remote technologies, increase of digital tools use, offerings of online services, and openness to new solutions. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

ABSTRACT

During the last two years (2020-21), Coronavirus has infected hundreds of millions, and the resulting COVID-19 disease has killed more than six millions people worldwide. Different countries and institutions have tried their best to control the virus in the best possible way available to them. Saudi Arabia (KSA) has been quite successful in controlling its spread of Coronavirus, with the help of modern technology. In this article, efforts of Saudi Arabia in managing with COVID-19 with the help of digital technologies are reviewed. In particular, different aspects treatment and management of COVID-19 patients using modern technologies is analyzed, and the role of technology is highlighted. © 2022 Bharati Vidyapeeth, New Delhi.

ABSTRACT

Human relationships, intimacy and the role of technology within it constantly change, catapulted in 2020 by COVID-19. We take this social rupture as an opportunity to reimagine possible futures for love, friendship, and kinships. Through design futuring and related approaches, we offer five prompts we developed for imagining alternative futures exploring a diverse range of intimacies. Through generating responses to the prompts, we offer alternative intimate futures as well as reflections on how such 'prompts for futuring' can be generative for design research. Our work extends calls for diversifying design futuring, imploring design researchers to consider diverse and inclusive ways of designing for futures, especially for human relationships and intimacy. © 2022 Owner/Author.
